Joseph Duclos savoir-faire
Our Maison perpetuates an exceptional savoir-faire, where each creation pays homage to the art of leather. Between tradition and innovation, artisans create unique pieces, sublimated by secular techniques and precious finishes, reflecting authentic, timeless luxury.

Birth of the Royal Manufacture
1754
Maison was born of patente letters received by King Louis XV conferring on the factory its Royal title. Joseph Duclos produces leather for the great courts of Europe.

Exceptional leathers
A patrimony
The Manufacture Royale produced exceptional leather, notably through vegetable tanning.
This is an artisanal process using natural plant, bark and fruit extracts to transform the hide into leather. It offers a unique patina, an authentic feel and reduced ecological impact.

Maison Joseph Duclos
Resolutely contemporary
From this patrimony, Maison Joseph Duclos is committed to giving back to expert artisans to highlight French leatherworking savoir-faire, with creations that combine patrimony and contemporary.
Techniques and methods
Corner stitching, wet-mold construction, cloisonne enameling, saddle stitch, trimming and strapping, Joseph Duclos perpetuates rare and meaningful methods to offer creations at the height of French artisanat.

Corner stitching
A symbol of excellence, the corner stitching embodies Joseph Duclos craftsmanship. Handcrafted by rare artisans, it ensures perfect finishes and impeccable fit. Each seam sublimates the leather, revealing the precision and elegance of timeless luxury.

Couture mains
An art of detail and a guarantee of excellence, the point sellier (saddle stitch) is emblematic in the world of fine leather goods. Hand-stitched with two needles and a waxed thread, it ensures unequalled strength and exceptional finishes. Each stitch, precise and regular, gives birth to pieces of absolute luxury.

Wet molding
A patrimony of ancestral savoir-faire, wet-molding leather shapes the material with precision to reveal perfect curves. At Joseph Duclos, this technique sublimates the suppleness and memory of leather, giving birth to pieces with controlled volume.

Strapping
Joseph Duclos adds meaning to each of its collections. In centuries gone by, bags were often built on a metal frame. This is how the Diane collection was conceived - between history and the contemporary, with leather sheathed on a piece of precious metal. The strapping makes our creations eponymous with leatherwork jewelry.

polishing
Polishing, the ultimate gesture of excellence, reveals the natural radiance of Joseph Duclos leather. Handcrafted in several long stages, it meticulously polishes the edges for a smooth, meticulous finish. This savoir-faire, combining precision and tradition, sublimates each creation and testifies to a luxury where every detail counts.

enclosed enameling
Enclosed enameling, a rare and precious art, embodies the refinement of Joseph Duclos. Each motif is meticulously delimited by fine metal partitions before being filled with enamel and fired at high temperature. This exceptional savoir-faire, used mainly in the field of fine watchmaking, sublimates the maison creations with timeless brilliance.

Trimmings
In praise of detail and refinement, Joseph Duclos trimmings perpetuates an exceptional savoir-faire. Bangs, braids and ornaments are woven with precision to sublimate each creation. Inheriting a noble decorative art, it adds a touch of sophistication to the House's timeless elegance, around flagship pieces such as bandolieres.

Rare, timeless luxury
Joseph Duclos bags are the epitome of exception. Made from precious materials, including leathers that often take 8 months to tan, and crafted by artisans with rare expertise, they take an incomparable amount of time to complete. Each piece is the fruit of meticulous craftsmanship, guaranteeing exclusivity and outstanding quality.
